Hello World

The classical introductory exercise. Just say "Hello, World!".

"Hello, World!" is the traditional first program for beginning programming in a new language or environment.

The objectives are simple:

  • Write a function that returns the string "Hello, World!".
  • Run the test suite and make sure that it succeeds.
  • Submit your solution and check it at the website.

If everything goes well, you will be ready to fetch your first real exercise.

Elm Installation

Refer to the Exercism help page for Elm installation and learning resources.

Writing the Code

The first time you start an exercise, you'll need to ensure you have the appropriate dependencies installed.

$ npm install

Execute the tests with:

$ npm test

Automatically run tests again when you save changes:

$ npm run watch

As you work your way through the test suite, be sure to remove the skip <| calls from each test until you get them all passing!
