Note that I did not rebuild the opml file, because opml.sh seems to not work too good on macos. On the other hand, maybe I wasn't using it correctly and it was user error.

That one's too long and noisy for casual consumption. How about my goodreads feed? That'll keep you updated on what I'm reading, and is a more 'polite' feed.

My sense of balance is satisfied.

I have never used OSX so I can't say anything for sure, but maybe the use of {{ and }} is causing an issue because the syntax of some regular expression engines support {x} to specify an amount of characters: a{2,5} for 2 to 5 a, or a{,2} for up to two a, or a{5,} for 5 or more a, or a{3} for exactly 3 a.
