Many of the WADs that he made were chopped full of unique sound effects that were edited in. In Mortal Kombat Doom!, for example, Eric made it so that when the player jumps off of the podium at the start, the Mortal Kombat announcer will say the iconic «Fight!» line straight from the game, in the WAD that we'll be looking at today, U.A.C. Labs, when you shoot barrels, they make a funny gory splatter sound. Having grizzly sound effects, especially in deathmatch levels at the time, was kind of the standard and gave every level its own unique feel to it. I think it's fair to say that any teenager would add these campy and over-the-top sounds simply as they can be humorous.

In-fighting is when one monster will accidentally attack another monster who will then start to attack the first until one of them dies. Harris made use of this, for example, there is a room in the first level where this can be used to your advantage; near the starting area, you'll see a cyberdemon, a beginner player would simply try and attack the cyberdemon with rockets, but a smarter one would know that they can save ammo by getting them to in-fight with the hell knights surrounding this boss monster. Saying that, running out of ammo is kind of hard on this map, same for dying as if you do get hit, you can just pick up one of the countless (severn) soulspheres and one megasphere that are just in the open for you to collect if you're in danger (at least in map01)). Soulspheres will add at least 100 health to your player (the max health is 200, so if you're at 42 health and you pick one up, you'll now be at 142) while megaspheres are even better, not only giving you 200 health, but also giving you 200% on your armor (again, the max armor is also 200).

I feel like this makes battles a whole lot... less intense, I guess. Like, if you get your health down to a point that you as the player start to panic, you can simply just run back to one of the soulspheres in the level and then get right back into battle.

Hi there, and if you read the title of this page right, then you'd know that I'm Cass (she/he/them). To tell a little about myself, I am a nerd from the UK who has a strong passion for all things relating to the world of ICT, as well as the preservation of software, the Web, and other things relating to the Internet as a whole. With howling throughout the trees, your hope slowly dies out as the rain starts to hit even harder upon your uncovered head. This was anything but friendly land that you had the misfortune to stumble upon after getting lost from your party. Your hunger grows as your body becomes weak, but just then a guardian angel comes to your aid, an angel in the form of a light shining from a log cabin window.

As I also go by the name Owly online, I thought it would be funny of me to buy the domain owly.fans for a decade as it sounds a bit like the name of a certain other website full of fans. If you want, you can also find me on my Masto where I post about a bunch of rubbish that you may (or more likely, may not) find interesting.

You make your way there, almost tripping over yourself in the slow and painful walk to this bastion of new hope.

The door to the building creaks open. It's all but dark inside, but what was the light you saw? Standing proud at a desk lay a computer screen, a mouse, and keyboard. On it showed the website for www dot owly dot fans, a website by Cass. You smile knowing that it was all worth it in the end. Sitting down at the chair, your next option will be the most important one... where on the website do you wish to visit first?

Why hello there, so then, you clicked on that link - that was very brave of you, and you know what? I respect you for that, I like brave people like yourself, anyway, welcome to my about me page (woo!). To tell you honestly, I am not quite sure what to really put here, so rather than put a bio that you might see on any other website, I took inspiration from my biggest hero; myself. You see, all the way back in 2019, I made a little project called 2095: Not Quite Human where I got Talk to Transformer, a «modern neural network», to write sci-fi stories - so just for the hell of it, I got the neural network to write my about me bio. So, everything written in this style was written by me, a human, while the text in bold was made by the network, a soulless being.
