Day 3
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Come with me Princess Latifa! Grab my hand!" I whispered urgently,
straining out my hand to grasp her. "No! I can't! You have to go now!
They're coming!" she replied. "I'm not leaving without you! I came
here for you! Now stop arguing and grab my hand!" I said.
"Go now! They're coming!" she cried. At that moment, the door kicked
open and a dozen men rushed in, guns blazing.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I yelled.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I jumped awake, my heart pounding like a djembe, tears rolling down
my cheeks.
"Hey! Are you okay?" Trisha reached over and held my face. She
looked into my eyes, and it almost felt like she could read my mind.
"Come here! It's okay, everything's fine," she gently pulled me in
for a hug. I closed my eyes and hugged her tightly. She ran her
fingers through my hair, and gently caressed my back. I don't know
long we stayed like that, but it was really long.
I finally opened my eyes, and looked around. Everyone else appeared
to be ignoring us, but I knew they'd noticed. I gently pulled away
from her.
"I'm sorry," I whispered. "Oh no! It's okay!" she smiled.
I got up to go to the bathroom.
I washed my face and looked into the mirror. I sighed.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I went back to my seat and looked out the window. It was pitch black
outside.
"Krsnah?"
"Hmm?"
"What dream did you have?" Trisha asked.
I shook my head. "I don't wanna talk about it."
"Okay. It's okay."
She caressed my arm gently.
"You're gonna have to stop that or I'll have to marry ye," I said.
The others looked up.
"What?"
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Adah asked.
"No!"
"A wife?" Kriti asked.
"No!"
"Did you have a girlfriend before you met us?" Selena asked.
"No! NO! NO!" I looked around. "What's up with all these questions?
Huh? What do you want from me?"
"Krsnah, we were made for a specific purpose," Aditi began, "We
served the physical needs of the King, the princes and members of
the royal family."
"Yeah yeah! I know that. That's why I rescued you. So you can be
free and do whatever you want," I said.
"But we need to have sex," Adah replied.
"You need to?"
"Yes."
"What happens if you don't?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are you telling me all this?" I was getting frustrated.
"Because we need to have sex," she repeated.
"Wait wait wait! Now hold on for a second! You don't expect me to
have sex with all of ya'll! Are you fucking kidding me? Hell no!
Hell to the no no no! I mean, I like ya'll and stuff, but I ain't
going to sleep around like some fuckboy!"
"Okay."
"What's the alternative? I mean, we've been here for like 3 days
and ya'll just seem to be doing fine!" I asked.
"We can either masturbate or hibernate for half an hour each day,"
Aditi continued, "We've been taking turns to hibernate but we've
noticed you have needs too."
"I don't wanna talk about this right now. Ya'll can masturbate,
hibernate, do whatever you want, but I don't wanna talk about this
right now. You're not even fully human!"
"We're human," Trisha said.
"Oh really? Do you bleed? Do you dream? Can you feel? Do you have
emotions?" I challenged.
"Yes," Adah replied.
"Do you have a human heart? Like mine? Does it beat like mine? Huh?
Does it hurt when you love? Can you love? You're a bunch of goddamn
clones! You're like machines! I'M HUMAN! DO YOU HEAR ME? I'M
HUMAN!You folks - I don't even know what the hell you are! So leave me
alone and don't you ever try cozying up to me like that! I'm not like the
King or the princess or any of those fucking scumbags! You hear me?" I
thundered.
"Loud and clear," Adah replied.
"Good!" I walked off.
I needed a goddamn break. This was all too much for me to process.
