Esolangs are rad for many reasons. Folks on [[sans]] dig them for a whole host of reasons, one of which is because they're anti-capitalist, showing that computers can be used for fun, art, and more than "getting the job done..."
What actually constitutes an esolang is sort of a hazy space, but some that may count on sans are [[brainfuck]], [[fe]] and [[snobol]].
