title: 2019-08-04

I remember talking with my bosses about my working hours. They showed me that
they worked more than 40 hours a week and had a video call with a coworker at
1am this night. We were talking about that while entering my parents' home to
spend the night at 0:45.
I rinsed some plastic food boxes in the sink of the kitchen at that house.
The fridge got replaced by a closet, there was a sink where the oven normally
is, and a sliding drawer was actually a dishwasher. I then talked about
breakfast with a coworker after she went into the food pantry and noticed at
least six 800g pound cakes waiting for us. She told me she loved those cakes
but never knew when to stop before feeling too full. I replied I was taking
one quarter of those (so 200 grams) on each breakfast.
I then remember being in a street where the sidewalks were paved unevenly.
I was still with that coworker, and what was apparently her little brother.
I was on my scooter, and I was telling myself I should probably do some
cleaning in my house because I can no longer find the EO-COM remote control
I had[^eo].
We went into a restaurant where the floor was anthracite. We sat at a table
with high stools while I asked "Oh, we're eating here?". At the center of a
table was an elevated portion where a computer with a Samsung screen was
installed. It was running Windows XP and I used it to look at the menu, instead
of using the paper menu that was right behind the screen. My coworker, seated
behind my computer, was using that paper menu instead.
Her little brother, with which I had some discussions about setting up some
sort of authorization system to limit the harassment on minors as well as
pedophilia, was on my left, not on a seat, and was looking at the menu on a
7" tablet even though he also had a computer like me. The seats on my right
and on the opposite side of the brother were empty.
While looking at my coworker between the two screens that were completely
blocking the view, all I saw was an older woman that was looking at the menu,
seated on some couch on another table with a wooden separator between us.
I asked myself where my coworker was for a moment.
My coworker wanted to try out the restaurant's own special recipes. The menu
had 8 or 10 different burgers. One had chicken, one had fish, one had pulled
pork, and one was more classical with some bacon. One had a name that ended in
"Mark", implying it had some cheese called "Marquefort", like the french pun
on the french cheese Roquefort: rock fort, "loud rock".
[^eo]: The EO-COM is one of the few remote control types available for purchase
that lets blind people in France make streetlights talk so that they know when
they can cross or not. Those remotes can also make some bus stops announce the
next arrival times, or cause multiple speakers in a train station to talk in
sync to announce where the platforms or the ticket booths are. I had an EO-COM,
but lost it a year before this dream, and got myself an EO Evasion instead.
I am not blind, but some cities or bus companies in France give out the remotes
for free sometimes without even checking that you are actually blind.
