title: 2021-11-05

We noticed that an IRC server of my company, where a Reddit chat was hosted,
was down. We didn't know if it was just turned off or if it broke down.
My boss takes a man that looked like Morgan Freeman with him, because he has
more knowledge than him on networking, to go find that server. They head into
an elevator and I join them. I think another of my coworkers came with us too.
It had rained outside, but now the sun was shining. The asphalt was still very
wet with many puddles. Along a street, we open a bunch of manholes until we
find the server. It was a black computer case, a pretty small form factor and
horizontal. The hole it was in was a rectangular bathtub. A gray pipe was
going through that bathtub. The computer was probably quite wet, at least
humid from the rain; the hole did not look waterproof at all.
I take the server back to the office using a plastic grocery bag. Not one of
those shitty and small bags but a sturdy bag that one of the department store
brands of France uses to deliver groceries to people's homes. My boss also has
one of those bags, and as I start to go back to the office I remember I left my
phone on some box along the street, the kind of which hosts electric equipment
or phone lines or stuff like that.
I grab the phone and put it in my boss' bag, to keep my hands free apparently.
My boss had attached the two handles of his bag to a thick khaki rope that was
attached to something else along the street. The bag was thus suspended in the
air and he had no effort to make at all while I was grabbing the phone.
Once we got back to the office, my boss and Morgan Freeman went into another
room with both bags to deal with the server. They accidentally took my phone
with them.

I was in some sort of racing video game where the provided vehicles were not
just sports cars: there were weirder choices like a 9-seat minivan. I took it
and got to the tutorial race, just one lap around a block. Everyone was
driving on the right side of the road but I kept going on the left side.
A voice was explaining how the shifter worked: it was in "american" style,
which means it had 2 or 3 forward gears and a thrust reverser (the things on
airplane turbofan engines that redirects some of the air into the opposite
direction to help with braking). After the lap was completed, I turned right
into a train station's parking to reach a gas station a little further away.
