Digital Cleansing - Social Media

I use social media. But not Facebook or Twitter. I was one of the fortunate ones who never got invested in Facebook or Twitter.

Twitter

I deleted my first twitter account after being overwhelmed by the follow suggestions and update notifications. I can barely keep up with ones I follow and you want me to follow more people 😕️ And you will go as far as annoying me by sending notifications. I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS A TOGGLE FOR ME. YOU DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY WELLBEING AND DIDN'T TURN IT OFF, WHY WOULD I WANT TO TURN INTO YOUR PLATFORM ?

Deleted

But now I didn't had a way of communication with "YouTube celebrities" who didn't knew me. So I needed an account and I told myself, I will be more mindful and configure privacy settings the just the way I want them. Only notify for tweets by people I follow and tweets that mention me. I created an account

Deleted Again

You probably have seen the pattern. I want to follow a handful of people who I believe has value in their posts and no one else. I don't mind them retweeting others' tweets, but telling me who to follow presses a very specific button in my nervous system that triggers rage quit.

I had 2 Twitter accounts, @amurtezay and @murtezayesil, and deleted both of them. But you will see that both accounts are there and not deleted 😡️

Facebook

Deleting Facebook was more difficult because younger me thought that it was a good idea to sign into other services using Facebook. I time to time removed those services and finally left with few I didn't really care about.
