are they actually digits? are they actually binary? at what level of abstraction?

or more importantly, maybe: of what else can these binary digits be made of?
|
|
|
|
to what extent can we compute without summoning, and/or depending on, the semiconductor industry?

|
its achievements are amazing, i agree.
|
|
but also, can't be really sustained.
|
|
|
|
let's play, let's explore possibilities.

maybe it's not practical today, but it can be fun.
