Currently there is no information on the site about how to register a nickname or recover a forgotten password for a nickname registration.

Since this is quite an important feature (for example for posting in #meta) it would be useful to at least mention that it exists and link some documentation.

Another important point is what to do when someone has forgotten their registration password.
This is the case for me now. The first place I'd look for help is the tilde.chat website, but I couldn't find any information on what to do.

/msg nickserv help

However, if it would be more helpful to have online documentation of this, I can write a guide for various nickserv functions.

You can just accept necessary cookies and leave everything else disabled. If you just have cookies disabled entirely, feel free to use a plugin like ublock or an ad blocker to remove the screen. Either way should work
