+Piú che un *Mercoledí Musicale*, questo è un “[sabato del villaggio](https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/Canti_(Leopardi_-_Donati)/XXV._Il_sabato_del_villaggio) musicale”. Vogliate scusarmi: ho avuto da fare. Ciò non significa, però, che non abbia avuto modo di ascoltare qualcosa di nuovo (per me). Non esito, dunque, a condividere con voi un album molto particolare: si tratta di *[Love Over Gold](https://deezer.com/album/239317)* dei Dire Straits.

+La prima traccia dell’album, *Telegraph Road*, dura piú di un quarto d’ora. A parte il dovuto riflesso condizionato reminescente i [Pink Floyd](3E3MmshRoWaOk0Ky29hNeU.png), questa canzone ha al suo interno una scansione che mi ha ricordato i movimenti di un’opera classica. Secondo me, questa traccia è la piú interessante tra quelle incluse nell’album. A un’introduzione placida segue l’ingresso dei vari strumenti; solo a 2:30 inizia la “storia” vera e propria; un susseguirsi di forti e piani, pianoforte e chitarra e organo elettrico permettono di godere di un panorama sonoro di tutto rispetto.

Mi sono approcciato a quest’album, infatti, solo dopo che mio padre mi ha consigliato di ascoltare questa canzone in particolare. Il crescendo bello sentito mi ha fatto venire la pelle d’oca. L’atmosfera è un po’ malinconica, ma mai banale. Nota d’onore anche per l’ultima traccia, *It Never Rains*, perché l’inizio sembra un tema per una cittadina dell’universo dei *Pokémon*. Stranamente, mi è parso che la traccia che dà il titolo all’album sia quella meno convincente, nonostante abbia molte chicche a basso volume che mi hanno spinto ad ascoltarla con maggiore attenzione.

+Rather than a *Music Wednesday*, this is a “[village Music Saturday](https://lyricstranslate.com/en/il-sabato-del-villaggio-saturday-village.html)”. I hope you will excuse me, for I have been quite busy. This doesn’t mean I had no chance to listen to something new (to me). Without further ado, I’d like to share my opinions about a particular album, *[Love Over Gold](https://deezer.com/album/239317)* by Dire Straits.

+The first track, *Telegraph Road*, is more than fifteen minutes long, so it’s worthy of [that Pink Floyd meme](3E3MmshRoWaOk0Ky29hNeU.png). However, its internal subdivision reminds me of the movements of classical music. In my opinion, this is the most interesting track in the album. A peaceful introduction is followed by the various instruments kicking in; only at 2:30 the actual “story” begins; the alternating fortes and pianos, guitar, electirc organ and piano parts made me enjoy a rich sonic landscape.

+The track that I enjoyed the most, however, is the second, *Private Investigations*. I approached this album because my father recommended this song in particular. The crescendo gave me goosebumps. The atmosphere is quite melancholic, but never trivial. Honourable to the last track as well: *It Never Rains*’s beginning sounds like a theme song for a *Pokémon* town. Weirdly enough, the title track seemed the less convincing, even though it hides a lot of low-volume gems that encouraged me to listen to it with higher attention.
