+Se devo essere sincero, la scena vaporwave propriamente detta mi vede un po’ distante in questo periodo per una serie di motivi: non tutti gli artisti che vorrei seguire sono su Spotify (per ragioni di *copyright* o di idee avverse o chissà per cos’altro); ho meno tempo per ascolti attivi; mi piace esplorare altri generi. Quando, però, ho visto che Windows 96 ha rilasciato *[Dated New Aesthetic](https://open.spotify.com/intl-it/album/6Dw9xzT5W8ZDhPnBWCUKQf)* di recente, ho deciso di giocare un po’ piú in casa per questo Mercoledí Musicale.

+Le canzoni sono un susseguirsi di riferimenti non solo alla vaporwave degli anni d’oro, ma anche all’ambient e al *new age*. Mi è piaciuta soprattutto la traccia 5, *Lightsleeper*, che alterna sequenze di puro rilassamento a sequenze con batteria *liquid drum ‘n’ bass* e un finale un po’ vaportrap.

+If I have to be honest, I haven’t looked into the vaporwave scene recently, for a number of reasons: some artists I would like to listen to are not on Spotify (for copyright reasons or other things out of my control); I have less time to actively listen to music; I want to explore other genres. However, when I saw that Windows 96 released *[Dated New Aesthetic](https://open.spotify.com/intl-it/album/6Dw9xzT5W8ZDhPnBWCUKQf)* some days ago, I decided to get more comfortable for this Music Wednesday.

+The tracks contain lots of references to ambient and new age music, and of course to “golden age” vaporwave. My favourite was track 5, *Lightsleeper*, as it alternates moments of pure chill and liquid drum ‘n’ bass-esque drums, with a somewhat vaportrap ending.
