BuJo 1

  • * 2017-01-07
  • † 2017-10-31
  • European Union-provided spiral notebook, ~240p

  • Helped me through an internship, some exams, and entering a university.
  • The spiral was a bit annoying, as I am a lefty
  • The notebook's thickness did not help with writing comfortably

BuJo 2

  • * 2017-11-01
  • † 2018-03-31
  • A5 binder with graph paper

  • I won't have to carry around such a large notebook if I can just take sheets out of the binder as needed
  • This technique is technically infinite since I can just take out sheets and archive them
  • I can't really have an index page…
  • This was nice and useful for a while, but I really wanted a notebook.

BuJo 3

  • * 2018-04-01
  • † 2019-03-31
  • Lemome A5 softcover dot-grid notebook

  • Got it set up on the first day of living on my own, and filled it in 365 days
  • First time using some 100gsm ivory paper with dot grid, it felt premium
  • Nice experience, though I wondered if I needed something smaller because my pages were sometimes hard to fill entirely. I like compactness.

BuJo 4

  • * 2019-04-01
  • † 2020-05-28
  • Rhodia Webnotebook Landscape 14×11mm Orange (118018C)

  • The horizontal layout made me more creative with my layouts.
  • The cover felt very sturdy and the paper was smooth.
  • The smaller format made it generally more convenient, and prevented my pages from becoming a mess despite having a compact structure.

BuJo 5

  • * 2020-05-29
  • † 2023-01-07
  • FNC-43b National Parks Mount Rainier
  • FNC-43b National Parks Joshua Tree
  • FNC-48c United States of Letterpress Starshaped Press
  • Moleskine Cahier Brisk Blue
  • 3× FNC-50 Fifty

  • I love Field Notes and wanted to also switch my BuJo to it, but feared that migrating all the collections would mean I run out of space quickly and use a notebook a month, so I switched to multiple notebooks:
    • 1 "main" notebook is used for collections
    • N notebooks will be used for daily logs until the main one is full.
  • I go through notebooks a bit faster, which makes me feel like I am being a bit productive (the large scale version of checking a task off a list).

BuJo 6

  • * 2023-01-08
  • † 2024-02-24
  • Oxford staplebound notebook, 9×14cm, grid, 96 pages

  • I just felt like going back to one notebook to rule 'em all.
  • I found that monthly and weekly logs are not that useful to me anymore.
  • I found that most of the collections I use do not last that long.
  • This notebook holds quite a few memories of various trips, and I started collecting scraps to dedicate more pages to that.

BuJo 7

  • * 2024-02-25
  • † not yet
  • FNC-43c National Parks Rocky Mountain

  • I only had two pages to migrate from the previous notebook; that's how much my use of long term collections has reduced.
    • One page might be moved to this wiki later.
    • The other page will disappear when I finish publishing my past dreams.
  • I still do use some collections but they are mostly short-lived, things like preparing for one trip or keeping track of online orders.
  • With so little to migrate, I am no longer afraid of using just one Field Notes as my BuJo.
  • I might use the FNC-53 Ignition packs next time, since I would have no other use for them anyway.
