A female coworker was in an office. She was trying to renew her electronic passport because it no longer worked on RFID scanners. The male clerk looks at the passport she handed him for a second, then just gives it back to her, saying in a condescending tone that it looked just fine. She insists and asks him to try scanning. He begrudgingly does so with his phone, and surprise, it doesn't work. He realizes that the thin antenna within the passport's cover is damaged.
He then begins to talk about a friend of his that knows how to program and builds devices that can scan passports remotely from the window of a car. He works with the police and hunts for large cases of fraud.
